Program Description

Event Details

This part of the dance and music series is open to those who would like to just be in the audience. Come and see the fabulous final performance!

Participants were asked to celebrate the dance, music, and poetry of women from the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia! The first two sessions were dance workshops, in which Artistic Director Debra Weiss taught participants dances from Africa and Latin America. The final session will be an interactive public performance with dance by Debra Weiss and workshop participants joining Debra for two dance numbers making this program a true community celebration! The final interactive performance will also feature live music with musicians from the Rockland Symphony Orchestra: Karen Gilbert RSO concertmaster on violin, Jacqueline Dreschler on flute & drum, and Stephen Reid on cello. This is a hybrid program with the option to attend in-person or via Zoom.

ArtsWestchesterThis project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant, a regrant program of New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the Governor’s office and the New York State Legislature and administered by ArtsWestchester.
