Are you interested in becoming a US citizen? Learn what you need to know to become a Naturalized United States Citizen.

If you have been a Permanent Resident ("Green Card" holder) for five years and have the ability to speak, read, and write basic English, you may be ready to apply for U.S. Citizenship!  Lisa Delmonico from Literacy Solutions, NY will describe what you need to know before applying for Citizenship, including the qualifications for applying, the special exemptions, and the obstacles that might come in your way. 

 

Lisa Delmonico works at Literacy Solutions, NY,  a non-profit agency in Rockland County.  Literacy Solutions provides English as a Second Language classes and ESL one-on-one tutoring, citizenship services and classes, and case management help - all at no charge.  Lisa is an accredited representative with the Department of Justice.  She has been helping residents apply for citizenship for the last three years and has been teaching citizenship preparation classes for the last 5 years.
